The Myth explained:
The Japanese Katana (Sword) is embodied with the soul of the Samurai warrior, and with the soul comes the myth. During feudal times the Samurai lived and died by their Katana. Each Katana was held in the highest of esteem, and thus each part was hand made and was revered as a great piece of art unto itself.
Japan’s greatest artisans transformed the tsuba (hand guard) on a Japanese Katana.
These Tsubas were carefully and lovingly decorated to include gods, deities and spirit animals that possessed mythical meaning and powers. Visions of sacred Mt. Fuji were revered.
The watercolor Tsubas that I painted are rare and in many cases never been available to anyone. The watercolors are one of a kind and are all about 3 - 3.25” round and framed. Priced from $500. Careful wrapping and shipping to anywhere in the world is in addition. Shipping price is determined on the location.
