Another painting from my Bronx days a short quip from my motorcycle diaries. Back in the day when I was in art school I drove a motorcycle to art class. I fell for this well super sexy artsy girl. A real art school fashionista, me with long hair and a mustache from the Bronx her with the looks and the best of the rest. So I would drive out to her home out on LI and I remember pulling up to her driveway and watching the blinds squeeze open as pairs of eyes watched her get on my bike as we drove off. Another painting from my growing up in The Bronx series. Oil on black panel not easy to photograph. I grew up as a pool hustler in the Bronx. I thought I was Fast Eddie (Paul Neuman and Jackie Gleason in the Hustler). I traveled around the Bronx winning a lot of $ I thought I was the best. Yeah but one day I got my cue balls handed to me, Busted, it cost me a lot of $. Those were Fast Times and Great Nights. Larry Hi rez prints available

Our lives growing up helped make us the loving fathers we are today.
As I looked back and reminisced about my life I wanted to share this new oil painting I did it says so much to me and well maybe to you in some way. "A Touch Of Home" This is part of my series on growing up in NYC
Growng up in the Bronx (or for someone else Brooklyn, Queens, Manhatten it really doesn't matter) my mom or my dad would hang out the window always waiting for me and yelled to come up stairs. During the summer we had no a/c so I would sleep on the fire escape. It was amazing just down the street from the El train.
It was these moments that my painting captures the memories of that life. I'll never forget them, I hope that your childhood memories wash over you too. Take a moment to think about your father on this special day.

The drawings are soft and offer a new etherial look.
They are drawn using sepia pencils and finished in soft pastel, drawn on 140lb Fabriano cold pressed paper which I have ink tinted. The backgrounds and subtle facial tones are soft and inviting but not easy to see here.

It is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious group of professionals. It is even more wonderful that they have awarded me an Honorable Mention for my drawing of Carol, my wife.
Back after three weeks of teaching in Europe. 55 Students and dozens of stories to share but one story humbled me to my core. One of my students was a recovering stroke victim and he said that my class changed his life. There is nothing else a teacher can ever say to that it brought tears to my eyes. Many years ago a teacher also changed the direction of my life and all that I have ever accomplished was due to him.

My Uniworld Art class was fantastic everyone loved it. The River Seine on one side the French countryside on the other.
I'm very proud to say that this is the fourth Salmagundi show I have been in, in three years and the third AAPL show.
Two great new shows that are about to open.
What does it mean to give ones all in the face of danger? To sustain the effects and changes that war brings, it means they have served. A short time ago I was honored to be asked to create a piece of art to honor our Vets. This was a request not to be taken lightly it meant what I do would hopefully have an effect in some positive way. I started off thinking how can I create a piece that would make someone think, respond and feel the emotion and connect with one of our Vets who has given to so much.
It was not easy but I have finished my contribution to this most worthy effort.
These warriors are my proud countrymen and I honor them and I am very proud to share with you the art I have created.
My art is a mixed media piece I created my art in a poster form for all who want one and a percentage of all sales will go to those who have served. I already have sold some.

American Artists Professional League President Peter Rossi presents the Salmagundi / AAPL Presidents Award to Larry Aarons
The Mill Pond Gallery exhibition had 180 entries and only 54 pieces were accepted. My drawing of the Old Man was awarded an Honorable Mention.
This exhibition drew 706 entries and only 60 pieces were accepted. Just four Honorable Mention were awarded.
My drawing of the Old Man was awarded one of those four Honorable Mentions.

Hutchins Gallery show closes with my regrets
My month long show ended in October.
I loved the gallery I felt like my art was hanging in a museum. Over 100+ people attended the openings. With multiple originals being sold and giclee prints as well.
The Hutchins Art Gallery at LIU in Brookville LI. One of the most important galleries on Long Island honored me with a one man show.
This is the largest show of my career with over 40 works of art to be seen.
